HAPPY HEARTS APPLE CHIPS ARE INSPIRED BY ANCIENT DRYING METHODS

For thousands of years, humans have relied on a very easy and effective way of preserving food so they could eat it later: drying it.

At first, they had to rely on the sun and wind for natural evaporation. Fruits, vegetables, meat and fish would be laid out and left for days, and sometimes that led to spoilage if the weather turned rainy or humid.

In the country of Georgia, there is a long tradition of drying fruit such as apples, plums, figs and persimmons and these treats are called chiri. Talented home cooks and artisans sometimes dip the chiri in chocolate or add it to baked goods such as cakes for an indulgent treat on special occasions.

Dried fruit keeps almost all of the nutritional value and health benefits as regular fruit, and is one of the best natural snacks you can choose.

Drying works by dehydrating the fruit and removing moisture, which inhibits the growth of bacteria and mold and slows down enzyme activity but doesn’t deactivate it.

We were inspired by chiri to create Happy Hearts apple chips by NADI.

We keep the skins on our freshly harvested apples for maximum health benefits, and we slice them ultra-thin. Then we use special drying techniques to make them super crispy and satisfying so you can love what you eat without any guilt or compromises. NADI Apple Chips are never baked, never fried or freeze-dried.

Happy Hearts have the perfect blend of tartness and sweetness, and they are made with just one ingredient: apples.

They are naturally gluten-free, vegan and non-GMO, which makes them a great choice for anyone who is trying to watch their diet or calorie intake.

Unlike some other apple chip brands, we never bake or fry Happy Hearts so there aren’t any added unhealthy ingredients like sugar or oil.
